My personal touch on Pen Ya is the explorative photography work – much like a theatrically staged photo session- that represents a story about the interviewee. Together the artist and I will create an in-depth photographic statement using a moment or series of moments in the interviewee’s life . The expression can be literal or conceptual – mega or simplistic.
About 10-12 creative shoots will be developed after all artists interviews are processed. The process will be determined based on collaboration. The results will be posted on the Pen Ya blog, Pen Ya Facebook, Chroma Rose Photography Facebook, and Roseanne Peña Facebook account, as well as, showcased within the Pen Ya: Artiste Imaginarium – Houston Edition.
The Creative Shoot will begin once all interviews are complete.
What are you looking for (Volunteer Artist)?
I am eager to connect with make-up artists, hairstylists, clothing designers, and prop designers. Volunteers will require mobility (work anywhere in the city of Houston). If committed, you will become part of the Pen Ya Team. The Pen Ya Team works solely with the Creative Shoots which will begin later in the year.
Will I get paid?
This can be a great collaborative project and opportunity for skill growth and just plain fun. MUA, hairstylists, wardrobe designers, and other staff will receive credit in social media accounts (and ultimately name and contact information published in the book ) – along with a few digital copies of the collaborative work (with copyright) for online marketing. You will be paid a fix amount for each Creative Shoot you partcipate in.
Keep in mind, this is a non-profit project, and the money you will receive comes from sponsorship. If there’s no sponsor money, there’s no payment. If you decide to committ, you are committed for both payment and non-payment. It’s a team! Remember the end goal is a published book…so the reward is worldwide publicity!!
You can do your part to help the Pen Ya Project by spreading the word and help raise funds. Refer friends and family to donate direct via Fractured Atlas: Pen Ya Please connect this blog (including Pen Ya Facebook) site with your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and businesses.
